Description:   Top slope of the context is slight down to the S. The soil color is light greyish brown. The soil compaction is soft. The soil is poorly sorted. It is clayey silt.
Notes:   We were trying to interpret the levels of the floor in the northern section of the excavation area to see if the floors in the north area relate to those in the south. We are trying to dig around and define the outlines of the cut in the north (5204/ 5239). This layer was under a heavy ceramic layer, and darker. Under 5259 there appears to be the level which 5204/5239 was cut into. Digging revealed the clay surface surrounding the 5204/5239 and level which the line of sit.
5259 has a clayey skin and roof tiles lying flat in it which suggests it could be leveling fill. Part of it was laid over a robbing trench at the southern limit of the context where the E/W wall continues into the eastern scarp of the excavated area.. This e/w wall appears to consistently act as a boundary between floors of the northern and southern sections of the trench.
