Stratum:   Inclusions: pebbles and cobbles, mostly angular (7%); rare Roman diamond tiles
Description:   Top slope of the context is steap down to the W. The soil color is light greenish brown. The soil compaction is firm. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   We are removing the area in the east of the "corridor" north of Room E that is at a much higher elevation than the rest of this "corridor."
Possibly significant for dating are the diamon shaped Roman tiles.
The soil is darker towards the bottom of the context.
It comes down on a harder, redder surface with some large clay inclusions.
To the far east, at W16, lowest course now exposed, there are three marble blocks with plaster revetment, probably in secondary use.
