Stratum:   30% clay, charcoal, rooftile lees than 20 cm, small sherds, anglar tabular cobbled
Description:   Top slope of the context is uneven. The soil color is dark reddish brown. The soil compaction is soft. The soil is poorly sorted. It is clayey silt.
Notes:   1) We are excavting the N area to figure out the floor leveling situation regarding North and South floors connected over East-West wall.
2)Because of the uneven mixtrure of materials and rooftiles this looks like fill to bring up floor levels over wall. Some roots disturb this layer. Pottery is flat lying on top and random below. The roots make the soil softer. The animal bone recovered includes some complete elements in this context (5310) which was not the case with overlying contexts. Also, a few fish bones appear. Often our contexts end when the crust of the context underneath is reached, but once the soil is dug into, the compaction ends up being soft. The processes that led to this kind of deposition are unclear: it could be a result of weather, compression, or treading by people and/or animals.
Boundaries clear change between the bottom of 5310 and the crust of 5317
