Description:   The soil color is dark greyish brown. It is silty sand. Structure materials: limestone. Material size: range: 0.54 x 0.49 x 0.42 to 0.25 x 0.15 x 0.20m. Material finish: squared. Material construction: random. Material bonding: none. Features: none.
Notes:   Wall 5473 is the northern preserved end of a much larger N-S wall, the southern extend of which has been completely robbed out. The masonry style is squared limestone blocks laid in random course, with the largest stone on the souther end. Three courses are visible on the eastern face, with tile fragments between the stones. The western face is still obscured by fill.
Wall 5473 abuts Wall 58 to the N. It is possible that the smaller stones on the western side are built up against the larger eastern stones, but it is impossible to tell until the fill to the N is excavated. The large blocks by themselves are 0.60m wide.
Later Notes - 30/03/09 (S. Gallimore)
Wall subdivided into two components: 5473 is superstructure; 5913 is foundation wall which wall 5473 directly overlies
For dimensions and size of materials changed several measurements to coincide with division of wall into two components
Wall 5473 removed today; Wall 58 = Wall 5562
Further removal of wall 5913 resulted in identification of additional phase, foundation wall 5914
Soil removed had 10% inclusions, mostly plant material with some stones.
