Description:   Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is mixed. The soil is poorly sorted. It is mixed- see description.
Notes:   The soil on top is a firm white marl, but we remove from beneath it losser reddish brown sandy silt. This deposit is south of the pit running next to Wall 38 and the staircase, and it is directly north of deposit 5527. By removing this deposit, we reveal cuts on the north and west that distinguish the reddish soil of this deposit from other discrete clayey deposits. Otherwise, the dark fill that we have exposed beneath this deposit overlies the clayey soil around it.
