Description:   Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is dark reddish brown. The soil compaction is very soft. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   This is a putative foundation trench for E-W Wall 5443. It is located south of a cement surface which is south of the robbing trench represented by Deposit 5545 and Cut 5549. Both Wall 5443 and the foundation trench that runs along its north face cut the bottom of the robbing trench for the N-S Wall 71. Because the robbing trench for the E-W Wall 5463 runs under the bottom of the robbing trench for Wall 71, it can be said that Wall 5443 is later than both Wall 5463 and Wall 71. The removal of the fill of the robbing trench 5550 revealed the bottom of the large roughly hewn bocks in Wall 5443. Removal of the fill of 5550 revealed two deposits to the east. The bottom of the trench is formed by a hard reddish soil, while to the west a semi-circular cut in the reddish lens was detected, which is filled by a softer, darker deposit. Because the cut for the foundation trench appears to continue eastward into the scarp, a martyr of 0.40m was reserved.
