| Description: | Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is very dark reddish brown. The soil compaction is very soft. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy silt. | |
| Notes: | Deposit 5582 is expected to be the fill of a pit cut into the layer revealed at the bottom of 5578. The pit is characterized by the large boulders that capped it. The excavatioin of the it reveals another course of stones in N-S Wall . This pit may represent a stopping point of the 1960s Excavation, and the 1960s archaeologists may have excavated this starting from a higher elevation at the time but decided not to proceed past the rocks, thereby digging around the pit. | |
