Description:   Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is light pinkish brown. The soil compaction is firm. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   Deposit 5585 is a patch of floor south of Wall 5562 and east of Wall 71 and its robbing trench. The excavation of this deposit exposes soft reddish soil beneath. Rather than a careful clayey floor, deposit 5585 appears to be a trodden surface. The matrix of the deposit is not very different from the other layers of dumped fill that surround it. This removal of deposit 5585 reveals another layer of leveling fill beneath it. As we have been doing, we leave a martyr on the west edge of the room, along the robbing trench for Wall 71. Another team is working at a higher elevation directly to the west.
