Notes:   Deposit 571 is a lens of soil covering ws appear to be the foundation of a pier (573) that marks the west boundary of the red clay floor that extends westward from wall 540. There is a vertical cut in the western extent of the floor that forms a corner; it indicates that the southernmost block of the pier has been robbed out. The fill terminates shy of the edge of the structure indicating that the block was removed from the pier while the structure was still visible. The vertical cut in the floor that preserves part of the contour of the block is the only evidence of the robbing out of the block. The removal of the fill revealed the top of the rubble foundations of the pier.
