This wall, abutting 5783 in the South of the courtyard, is being removed in order to make the Byzantine house more comprehensible to visitors. It is one of several walls that are allowed to be removed. This is probably a Frankish wall, but the pottery should help give a more solid date to the structure. Rather than a foundation for a pier, this is likely a partition wall.
Below the western end of this wall, we have come down on a context that runs under the wall west of this, so we are stopping at this level. On the east appears to be another fill-like deposit that will not be removed at this time.
