Notes:   Deposit 5795 is the fill of the foundation trench for the north wall of the staircase in the courtyard of the 1961 Byzantine house. The fill was revealed by the removal of the courtyard surfaces 5773 and 5764 which ran right up to the wall and abutted it. The fill is distinguished from the surface into which the cut for the foundation trench was made on the basis of the color of the deposit and its compaction, it is both redder and softer than the floor revealed by the excavation of 5764 and 5773.
