Stratum:   60% fine-coarse pebbles roof tiles, mortar chunks
Description:   Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is dark reddish brown. The soil compaction is loose. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   Deposit 584 is the fill of a small pit cut through the fills directly north and abutting the pier 573. The function of the pit is not clear and the shape of the cut is irregular. It is somewhat reminiscent of the holes in the yard at Hill House created by my dog.
