Description:   Top slope of the context is slight down to the NW. Bottom slope of the context is slight down to the NWThe soil color is dark yellowish brown. The soil compaction is very soft. The soil is very poorly sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   The tiles in the S. extenstion are being treated as a separate basket (B58) because there are more, larger stones and the tiles do not now appear rest on the same clay (according to the pickman, Bill)--this remains to be seen.
The soil is very dried out by the sun--
Some tiles are kept as examples. The tiles are less dense than in B51.
Some clay is coming up under this deposit as well?
There is a worked marble fragment projecting out of the S. scarp into B58.
The tiles in B58 do not lie flat; e.g. one tile stood vertically on its long side. And they do not lie solidly on the clay surface.
Maybe these tiles are not strictly equal to B51, but rather are more churned up above tiles that are lying flat on clay in the S. extenstion (B59). [Later note: YES].
But all three baskets deposited at the same time.
