| Notes: | Wall 5913 is preserved northern foundation of a N-S wall. Entire southern portion of wall has been robbed out. Masonry is squared limestone in squared random courses. Largest stones on east side with smaller stones on west side. One course is visible on east side, two on west side. Superstructure wall 5473 overlies wall 5913. Wall 5913 abuts wall 5562 (labeled wall 58 in 1960s notebooks). Size of stones and squared masonry may suggest an exterior wall. After removing wall 5913, it became clear that tile flooring in room in which wall was located continued beneath wall 5913. While removing wall 5913, cut for foundation trench on west side revealed and became apparent that north end of wall 5913 had two phases. Lower phase given new context number (5914). Revealed by change in soil. Soil matrix removed from wall 5913 had approximately 10% inclusions, mostly plant material with some stones. Tile flooring revealed by 2008 contexts 5572, 5587. | |
