Description:   The soil color is dark yellowish brown. The soil compaction is soft. The soil is well sorted. It is clayey silt.
Notes:   Context 5962 in center of floor adjacent to courtyard in north of Byzantine house. This context was distinguished by the fact that it was less clayey than the proper floor adjacent to the southern wall (5463) cut by the foundation trench.
In the center of this deposit is a small portion of a curved structure of small stones. Its relationship to context 5962 is not yet determined.
The removal of this deposit revealed a layer of tiles which may be a continuation of the floor in the northwest corner, and another area of jumbled tiles, which are a continuation of the tile fall in the northeast corner. This tile surface labeled context 5981.
