Description:   The soil color is dark greyish brown. The soil compaction is soft. The soil is moderately sorted. It is clayey silt.
Notes:   Context 5970 is located in southeast corner of room located north of courtyard of Byzantine house. This context was concealing tile-filled surface revealed by removal several other contexts (5948, 5958). Northern boundary of context 5970 was pit 5582 (and cut 5584).
Removal of context 5970 revealed that tile fall did continue underneath. In SE corner of this context was small jumbled pile of tile fragments.
Soil is soft, clayey silt, dark grayish brown. Inclusions were 30% and primarily consisted of ceramic sherds and stones.
Removal of context 5970 revealed more tile fill, and also a surface of more compact earth above this on its western side.
