Description: | The soil color is dark yellowish brown. The soil compaction is soft. The soil is moderately sorted. It is clayey silt.
Notes: | Context 6011 lies on the east side of the room north of courtyard of Byzantine house adjacent to the foundation trench (5993) of the east wall (5990). This context was distinguished by its soft character and slightly darker hue than adjacent fill (6026) to the west. During the course of excavation there surfaced what appears to be a cut (6014) tapering to the south and terminating in a narrow, shallow foundation trench at the door jamb. It is bordered on the west by several large stones. A large sherd embedded in the context below seems to confirm that this new feature is indeed a cut (AC). Structure uncovered labeled context 6016. Cut for this context labeled 6017.
