Description: | The soil color is dark yellowish brown. The soil compaction is firm. The soil is poorly sorted. It is clayey silt.
Notes: | Context 6026 is a possible leveling fill in northeastern part of room which is north of courtyard of Byzantine house. Covers part of large surface which has been revealed in entire western part of room. Context 6026 abuts with bothros (contexts 6018 and 6019). Removal at this time to fully reveal floor surface. Soil is dark yellowish brown clayey silt with 20-30% inclusions (mainly ceramic sherds and stone). Context 6026 located north of robbing trench (6011, 6014) and appears to be one of the surfaces cut by it. Produced several large sherds incluing what appears to be a pithos base and a diamond-shaped tile. Dating context 6026 could prove helpful for trying to reconstruct building/construction history in this room. A bit more of wall 6016 identified by removal of this context. Is continuation of wall 6016 to north with a couple of blocks which appear to be going west. Eventually about 0.45m more wall identified to north and as more of context 6026 removed a section of wall heading e-w was defined. Numerous fragments of bone recovered from this context as well as an iron fragment and a very small stone tessera.
