Description:   Top slope of the context is slight down to the E. The soil color is dark yellowish brown. The soil compaction is firm. The soil is well sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   Excavation of a sandy fill (6008) exposed a hard, compact floor with many flat lying sherds and stones. To the southeast this could be distinguished from the narrow foundation trench (6029) that cuts into this context for the construction of wall 10083.
Excavation of the floor exposed a continuation of 6023 (cut of pit 6010), which divides this context. This is confusing, because we found the cut of the pit next to this context (seemingly cutting the floor). To find a continuation of the cut under the floor, then makes the pit both later and earlier than the floor. Looking back over our notes for the contexts above the pit, we have determined that 6007 and 6005 were most likely the same floor as 6028, but more poorly preserved, covering and post-dating the pit.
Because we believe this to be the case, we are removing the rest of this floor (to the west) in order to expose the rest of the pit cut, which continues to arch NE to wall 10083.
The removal of this floor to the nW exposed the continuation of the cut for the pit into wall 10083, filled with a lighter and softer soil. North of this cut there is harder, darker soil that extends north about 42-64 cm before another cut running E-W marks the beginning of another area of soft soil.
