Description:   The soil color is dark yellowish brown. The soil compaction is soft. The soil is moderately sorted. It is clayey silt.
Notes:   Context 6093 is leveling fill in north part of room north of courtyard of Byzantine house. Being excavated as one of last Byzantine contexts remaining before Roman levels. Possibly one of a series of leveling fills which would have been lain down by first Byzantine inhabitants on top of Roman levels.
Analogous to context 6090, surface revealed for removal of context 6093 likely a late Roman level. Thus, no 8th or 9th century appears to have been present in this room.
Soil is dark yellowish brown clayey silt with 30% inclusions (ceramic sherds, stones plant material).
A date for context could provide important information about the earliest construction history of the room and this part of the house. Coin 2009-45 recovered from this context. Context 6093 another deep fill like 6090 which further indicates the first phase of construction in this room during the Byzantine period. Removal of context 6093 also revealed a northern extension of wall 6016. Very little bone recovered from removal of this context. From an initial glance, much of the pottery looks Roman.
Removal of context 6093 also revealed foundation levels for wall 5562 on its southern side. These foundations are series of roughly hewn and unworked boulders which stick out farther than superstructure of wall.
