Stratum:   70% fine-coarse subrounded pebbles, cobbles, boulders, large chunks of roof tile, pottery, bone (minimal)
Description:   Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is dark pinkish brown. The soil compaction is loose. The soil is very poorly sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   Deposit context 625 is a large, chunky lens of fill. It is defined by its inclusions of large tile fragments (10-20 cm x 10-20 cm) and large pieces of pottery. This context is located east of the excavation scarp 255.5 E. It likely continues into the scarp, and thus this deposit has been sectioned in excavation. It is west of drain 426. This deposit is cut by robbing trench 596 and 497 to the south.
Certain large fragments in the context adjoin. We recovered 1 marble architectural fragment. It is a molding fragment for the threshold of a door approximately 25 x 20 x 10 cm.
Although these is a high percentage of roof tile, the fact that roof tile, large pottery fragments, and stone are evenly mixed throughout the deposit suggests that this is redeposited material.
