Description:   The soil color is dark reddish brown. The soil compaction is firm. The soil is moderately sorted. It is silty sand.
Notes:   We are excavating deposit 6317. This deposit was under fill 6309 and cut 6308. The soft red soil revealed by the excavation of 6317 seems to go under the context to the west (6312) and is continuous with the contexts to the east. Panos believes it is too big to be a foundation trech, so its formation remains unclear. We are stopping here in order to preserve the threshold 5671 as the earliest phase.
