Along with pier block 6337, they seem to have formed a type of entranceway, but they do not appear to be threshold blocks. Foundation trench fill is 6331 and is identified on the north, west, and east sides. Truncated on east by a big foundation trench 6314 for wall 5283 which indicates that the pier block (6319) is earlier than the wall.
