The soil color is light yellowish grey. The soil compaction is very soft. The soil is moderately sorted. It is silt. | | Notes: | | The previous fill 6368 was closed when we came down upon fill that was packed more solidly, was more ashy, had bits of white limestone and seemed to have a smooth surface and a hollow sound. When the soil was brought up in the buckets, it was extremely fine and very ashy. There was a dramatic drop in finds and bones at the sieve. The layer in the well may have been more compact due to the presence of water, as suggested by the pickman.
