Description:   Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is light yellowish grey. The soil compaction is firm. The soil is well sorted. It is clayey silt.
Notes:   6378 was opened when 6374 was closed. Whilte there was noc hange in the soil or inclusions, we are digging the well in 0.20-0.30 passes. The soil appears to be exeptionally ashy at this level; there are very few inclusions in it - mostly some bones, pottery sherds, and small boulders.
There were apparently a number of ash pots in this area that were uncovered ast season (2008).****look into this****
A chunk of mudbrick also has come out measing 0.17x0.13, although it is very fragmentary. It is grey and ashy with much orange clay and some charcoal inclusions. It came out of the footholds cut into the bedrock sides within the well.
We closed 6378 after ca. 0.30 of digging. There was no change in the soil. The underlying context is 6383.
