Description:   The soil color is dark yellowish brown. The soil compaction is firm. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   Context 6441 is a small leveling fill located at the western end of wall 5783 and northern end of staircase 6296. 6441 overlying a built floor of tile and pebbles. Soil is dark yellowish brown clayey silt with approximately 40% inclusions (stone, ceramic, bone). Fill likely related either to floor directly above (6440) or to one of surfaces at higher elevation. Removal of 6441 revealed more of foundation trench 6301 (cut 6302) which appears now to be unfinished.
