| Description: | Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is light reddish brown. The soil compaction is firm. The soil is poorly sorted. It is clayey silt. | |
| Notes: | 6562 was a small triangular shaped area of fill on the northern scarp's western end. It was situatied between the well (6288) and the staircase/staircase foundations. We removed it because it appeared to lay on top of the dark band at the edge of the northern scarp, which we planned on excavating next (6563). The limits of the context were artificial because we left martyrs along the side next to the well and the side next to the staircase. We excavated the fill for less than 10 cm before coming down on fill of two different colors. The southern portion was a lighter color while the northern bit, excavated as 6563, was darker and softer. Notes June 21th, 2009: 6563 was a false context created by the weathering at the edge of the scarp. It should not be used in determining date or stratigraphy of 6562. | |
