Description:   The context shape in plan is rectrangular. The top break of the cut is sharp. The sides of the cut are vertical. Truncation: truncated by the robbing trench?.
Notes:   This cut was revealed by 6563, dark fill at the north scarp. This cut is the northern end of the foundation cut for the NW pier (6273). We did not find this nothern edge higher up because the cut was not visible in a stretch of fill at the north scarp (6563) because this softer blacker soil was thought to be fill inside an E-W robbing trench. This is only a hypothesis since the width deposit 6563 was so narrow and so disturbed.
Further excavation revealed that we did not, in fact, have the north edge of the cut. The sides continue north and the dark fill inside the cut continues north below what we thought was the cut but was really only some clay not the cut.
