| Description: | Top slope of the context is slight down to the W. The soil color is light reddish grey. The soil compaction is firm. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy silt. | |
| Notes: | This patch of reddish soil was located south of wall 10095 and east of posthole 6216. The context measured ca. 0.80 x 0.40. We decided to excavate it as its own context because it was mostly soil with no floor matrix or visible inclusions, unlike 6598 immediately to the SE snf 6602 at the south of the baulk. We took off only a thin pass before large rocks and inclusions became clear, at which point we closed the context. 6601 seems to have been revealed by the cleaning passes of Boehm and Potenza so it does not have anything above it in the Harris Matrix. | |
