Description:		Top slope of the context is moderate down to the W. The soil color is light brownish grey. The soil compaction is firm. The soil is very poorly sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:		This context was a leveling fill under the floor surface 6593. It covered approximately the eastern third of the 'pebble floor baulk', with the 60s trench at its north, 'pier foundation' 6148 at its east, and cut 6224 at its south. The context is made up mostly of rocky, tiley fill, with many sherds and rather large bones (e.g. entire pig mandible). We excavated an area ca. 1.30m long and 0.89 m wide, down 17 cm to the same level as the western half of the baulk (the bottom level of 6602 and 6599). At this point it became clear that the context below had softer darker soil but also included a large number of tiles and cobbles. We closed 6603 and opened a context covering the whole northeast 'pebble floor' baulk, as 6605.
