Date:   2009/06/11
Stratum:   10-15% tile fragments, platy cobbles ca. 5cm
Description:   The soil color is light pinkish grey. The soil compaction is compact. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   6629 was opened as a fill deposit south and S-west of the well and south of the stairs. It is a continuous, homogenous fill with 10-15% inclusions and seems to be sitting on a dark red surface. On the south, 6629 is cut by 6623. We will excavate this to the well packing and to the stairs and to wall W54 on the west. In the NE, we will stop where a tree has disturbed the soil and XXXX between the well, the RT 6254 and 6623.
13-6-09 notes: 6629 actually came down on the same white floor surface that 6620 came down on. Also under 6629 were the construction cut for the well, 6635, and the fill inside 6636.
