Description:   Top slope of the context is slight down to the E. The soil color is light reddish brown. The soil compaction is firm. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   6640 was identified as a reddish trashy fill disturbing the grey floor in the sw corner of the room. It is bounded by walls 6422, 6421, 6426 on the west and south, wth the n-s robbing trench (6254) of the pier cutting it on the north. We closed the context when we were unable to see the boundaries anymore and there was a possibility that the deposit was continuing under the fill to the northeast (6644). 6640 may have been slightly overdug in the SE where the area under the blackish fill 6553 had much less inclusions [Note 15.6.09: excavation of 6662 revealed this to be the southern portion of an unexcavated bothros]. The layer uncovered by 6640 was dark and reddish and still contained tiles and rocks, but there seems to be many more pebbles than were present when 6640 was opened.
