Notes:   N.B. Context number 6655 was skipped in 2009. For consistency, it is being used during the 2010 season. Context 6655 is a cut for a circular pit located in the northern part of the room west of the courtyard of the Byzantine house. It is truncated on the north side by wall 5725. The fill for this pit is context 6583.
Cut 6655 is located in almost the exact same location as one defined for a pit dug in the 1960s (notebook 235, bothros 9). However, cut 6655 was revealed below context 6528 indicating they are separate features. It it likely, though, that only cut 6655 is for a pit while the one dug in the 1960s was a false cut created by layers slumping in the area of pit 6583. This slumping caused the layers to crack which may have been interpreted by the earlier excavators as a pit
*However, the potttery coming out of this pit is clearly Frankish in date indicating it should be related to the pit dug in the 1960s.
