Stratum:   80% inclusions of tiles, ceramic pottery, boulders - rounded and angular, cobbles, pebbles, along with quite a bit of ash in the N. end near the hearth 6653
Description:   The soil color is light greyish brown. The soil compaction is firm. The soil is very poorly sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   Context 6658 is dumped fill east of the corner foundation of the Ottoman house in the room W. of the courtyard in the Byz. House. It is likely equal to similar pit of dumped fill (6664) north of the Ottoman house foundation which seems to have truncated this large dumped fill.
It now appears after excavation, that we overdug this context on the north side and took out some material - smaller tiles instead of the boulders that comprised 6658 - which should have had its own context.
