Date:   2010/04/12
Lot:   Lot 2010-002
Stratum:   15% inclusions: small to medium sized pebbles, lots of pottery and tile, small lenses of calcium carbonate; very loose soil
Description:   Top slope of the context is uneven. The soil color is light reddish brown. The soil compaction is loose. The soil is poorly sorted. It is coarse sand.
Notes:   Context 6699 is the stratum directly underneath the compact external floor surface 6698. The soil is loose, reddish-brown in color, with lots of broken tile, pottery, and some bone. It looks like a debris fill, similar to 6696. There is a higher concentration of tile along the Western edge (along wall 5577) and in the SW corner of the area. We came down on a more compact layer along the Southern part of the area - it has fewer inclusions and is whiter in color in the SE corner. This soil is clayish with small lenses of charcoal and calcium carbonate - we will excavate as a new context, 6701.
