Notes: | This 'wall' is a mystery. To the east, if it did in fact continue, it has been lost - cut away by eariler excavations or land use. To the west where it could be preserved nothing remains. It was not cut by context 667, since it in fact lays over 667 and we had to remove it before moving onto the latter. 673 consisted of rough field stones haphazardly packed together and bound by hard packed dirt. Although the pottery date assigned is the Byzantine period, this should be put down to chance survival of sherds: 667 dates to the Venetian period and had a wealth of pottery associated with it making this date more secure. Thus 673 should also date to the Venetian period or later.
