Notes:   Wall 6765 is a NS wall, uncovered during the excavation of 6759 (and cut 6760), as well as excavation of 6770 (6770 = 6759). Wall 6765 runs roughly parallel to NS wall 5431. Wall 6765 abuts or possibly bonds with EW wall 6775. Wall 6765 abuts EW wall 6764; it is possible that wall 6765 abuts and then continues up and over wall 6764, but this is unclear. Together with EW walls 6775 and 6764, and NS wall 5431, wall 6765 forms part of a rectangular pit (= 6759 = 6770), possibly used for the deposit of pottery -- primarily cookware -- and bone.
Later notes: 19/5/10 JB KSS
It has now become clear that 6765 continues approximately 1.2 meters to the north, but curves in a flattened s-shape because the stones were robbed out unevenly. The stones are bonded at the curve of the S. We include a new master top plan behind the original for thie context that shows the extension of this wall.
Even later notes: 15/6/10 JB
We are now excavating the wall, as it has been pedesstalled in the north and south. We have hypothesized that this wall has its strange shape because it was robbed out on the northeast and southwest. The soil is a light yellowish brown in some places and a dark reddish brown in others. Excavation suggests that 6985 abuts 6765. The soil excavated in 7242 certainly continues under 6765, and so dates earlier. PK has revealed a line of stones running NS on a line similar to 6765. It seems that this may have been an earlier wall that was robbed out and cut by the pit under 6765. Then 6765 was built over the pit and around the remains of the lower wall. The north bottom elevation was 83.71, while the one to the south was 83.57.
