Description:   The soil color is light yellowish brown. The soil compaction is soft. The soil is well sorted. It is clayey silt.
Notes:   Context 6795 is a fill with an irregular cut (6796) against the north face of structure 6738 in the room west of the courtyard of the Byzantine house. It was revealed by the removal of context 6793 and comprises softer soil than the surrounding surface. At the southern end of context 6795 its removal came down on the same hard red sterile soil revealed at the bottom of pit 5943. At the eastern endof fill 6795 is a liner series of a few stones possibly from some type of wall.
The soil is light yellowish brown clayey silt with 5% inclusions (stone, pottery, metal). The fact that this fill and cut only covers a small part of the room makes it difficult to interpret. Perhaps it was some kind of robbing trench associated with either structure 6738 or with the stones against the western edge of trench 6761. Perhaps it is also related to the foundation of 6738 since continued excavation showed it runs along most of the northern edge of the structure. The excavation of ill 6795 also revealed that the two fully revealed blocks from structure 6738 are sitting on different types of soil suggesting leveling courses were laid down to ensure that the stones were at the same height.
