Description:   The soil color is light greyish brown. The soil compaction is compact. The soil is very poorly sorted. It is silty sand.
Notes:   We opened 6842 to investigate the fill along the northern face of wall 5463, which sloped down slightly from previously excavated context 6516 (2009 season), as possible foundation trench for wall 5463. Found reworked fragment of limestone mortar in cut (22x25cm). At approx. 20cm, came upon a cut at eastern end of foundation trench, which is probably foundation trench for wall 6016. Along northwestern edge of trench, a line of 5 stones (rubble) was uncovered. This context was closed to commence excavating the area directly north of 6842 to determine relationship to 6842 and determine extent of tile flooring visible at SW corner of junction of walls 6016 and 6526.
