Description:   Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is dark reddish brown. The soil compaction is firm. The soil is moderately sorted. It is clayey silt.
Notes:   6856 is the western part of fill in the drain, hypothesized as blocking it. We are digging it because the washed fill of 6854 goes beneath it. We stopped upon hitting washed silt.
Upon taking off 6856, two different soils were beneath it. On the west was 6860, with the same wet soil as 6854 but also with a lot of pottery. 6861 was the same soil as 6854 and slopped into 6854.
