Description:   Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is dark reddish brown. The soil compaction is hard. The soil is very poorly sorted. It is silty sand.
Notes:   This context was revealed by the excavation of the NW corner of 6863. We initially thought that the dark, reddish brown layer to the south dived underneath this layer also, so started excavating 6870. When we noticed a rockless layer appear above part of the edge of the rocky layer, as a precaution, we started excavating the rockless layer instead, as the later layer. On further examination, we realised 6870 was a pit, and so returned to excavate it before the rockless layer. We revealed what seemed to be a continuation of the rockless layer (reddish brown again) underneath it, confirming our original hypothesis.
