Stratum:   5% pebbles and sherds
Description:   Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is light brownish grey. The soil compaction is soft. The soil is well sorted. It is silt.
Notes:   6906 is an ash deposit stretching from under wall 5403, south to north, beside cut 5792. Perhaps it is related to ash deposit 6901. This ash has slightly more inclusions of pebbles and sherds than 6901. The shape of the cut (6908) for 6906 is rectangular with a curved end a the north. Two coins and a large piece of lead were found. We stopped upon hitting a layer of ash with large tiles and rocks. It will be intersting to compare the other water sampled ash deposits 6901, 6917, 6926. After we dated the pottery, 6906 and the other ash layers (6901, 6917, 6926) turned out to be Hellenistic and were dug before later layers.
