Description:   Top slope of the context is slight down to the SW. The soil color is light reddish brown. The soil compaction is soft. The soil is moderately sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   Context 7000 was opened to excavate the northern portion of a packed earth floor, truncated by the built pithos (6881) and foundation trench 6973 for wall 5562. It was sharply distinct from the surrounding fills because of its light reddish color and smooth, firmly packed surface. A bit of bronze was recovered. Excavation was halted 11 centimeters down because it appeared to have been cut on the E by a darker brown soil deposited in what may turn out to be a robbing trench for a rubble wall below this brown fill (a red soil appears between the blocks of what remains of the wall). This context (7002) will be opened next to investigate these hypotheses and take down this later fill.
Small fragments of red painted plaster were also discovered in this context, perhaps from the wall?
