Stratum:   ceramic sherds, bone, rooftiles, charcoal, subrounded pebbles, small angular cobbles, ca. 50% inclusions
Description:   Top slope of the context is moderate down to the SE. The soil color is mixed. The soil is poorly sorted.
Notes:   This deposit is a mixed fill of accumulated laminae of varying soil types. There are interweaving layers of very hard reddish brown soil with very soft black ash and some softer light reddish brown soil. This deposit was cut through by the foundation trenches on its south and west, so it might be the result or bi product of some type of industrial activity in one the neighboring rooms, either to the south or west, areas which were probably not blocked off with walls 7039 and 5741. In the room north of the courtyard, directly west of wall 7039, a hearth was found in 2008. It is possible that this deposit represents layers of hearth ash and accumulated fill from the activities around this hearth.
A coin was found in situ at: N; 1037.87, E: 272.03, el: 84.44.
Upon removal of the context, we have come down on several distinct deposits. In the SW, there is a hard, level area overlaying a harder red surface. In the central south area of the room is a small bothros, though it is unclear at this point if it has been cut by the foundation trench or not. Evident in the SE corner is another rubbly layer that will be more visible after the removal of the bothros.
This is in the room NE of the courtyard.
