Description:   The soil color is light brown. The soil compaction is firm. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   30.4.2012 This is a removal of the deposit immediately under 740, E of western balk, and west of wall 747. In line with thw E-W robbing trench in 672 and 732. 747 seems to extend slightly under 749 (or rather, more of 749). Many inclusions, mostly consisting of pottery, small stones, and bones, and large tiles.
Context 749 comes down upon stones that appear to be a continuation of the structure that 744 came down on, possibly a continuation of the original W-E wall, 747. there stones are in the east side of the context. By the end of the work day, we had sifted c. 30 buckets.
2.5.2012 Bottom of robbing trench found in the early morning. Thanasis recommended extending north to find the cut of the robbing trench on the north side. Cut on the south side is clear. Another ten buckets were sifted. Pictures, and final elevations and corner grid points taken.
