Description:   Structure materials: Limestone and bedrock (to the east), cement. Material bonding: mortar, cement.
Notes:   11.5.2012
Above wall, 805 was excavated. Wall 807 consists of large, roughly hewn bedrock boulders and cement (note: v. like wall 746 in construction). It extends east from wall 540, where it is almost immediately cut by pit 430. Large blocks are visible in the west scarp of 430 as well as at its base which align with this wall. 807 is not flush against wall 540 at its top, though it does appear to have been built against 540 and no sign of aligning blocks are observed on the west side of 540.
During session 1 of 2012, wall 420 was removed which, though it terminated a significant elevation above the highest blocks of 807, deserves mention as it followed roughly the same orientation as wall 807. Further exposure of wall 807 to the east can help further establish its orientation, as well as determine if 807 intersects 746.

The excavation of contex 1008 exposed what we have interpreted as a possible foundation trench of wall 807 (cut 1041). The fill of this trench (deposit 1008) has Middle Byzanine pottery. We argue that Wall 807 may be a Middle Byzantine Wall.
