Description:   The soil color is light yellowish black. The soil compaction is firm. The soil is moderately sorted. It is clayey sand.
Notes:   While we were excavating 887, Thanasis suggested to stop digging this context, and we decided to move south, to the black filling of a cut, diggen in red layers. 888 was partially dug during session I, but they stopped excavating it, bacause not all its boundaries were clear at that phase of the excavation.
The pottery pulled out from 888 consists of very large pieces and we found in it a great number of coins (22 coins). Coins were mainly in the middle of the context, quite close one to each other.
It is worth noticing the finding of a cameo (from sieve), who has incised on it Artemis riding a deer.
888 came down on a hard-packed reddish soil, which is clearly different from the black soil of context 887, N 888. The N edge of this context is Wall 366.
At the bottom of 888 a concentration of pebbles indicates the presence of a pit, whose boundary is clearly visible.
