Description:   Top slope of the context is level down to the S. The soil color is dark yellowish brown. The soil compaction is compact. The soil is poorly sorted. It is silty sand.
Notes:   This context is located immediately below wall 540. It is bounded by a Cut 980 and the northern limit of the excavation area. A coin was found close to the top of the context. Before finding the coin we intended to dry sieve 20% of the context, but as a result of the find we sieved 100%. Iron nails were also found.
The soil was silty and dark yellowish brown color. We opened this context hoping to find the evidence of the wall bedding as well as the continuation of a tile destruction layer and series of surfaces excavated in 2012 on both east and west sides of the wall. We closed the context when we reached a layer of tile embedded in dark yellowish brown soil under much of the context. In the northern side of the context, we found that the soil was different than the current context, so we left it unexcavated. At the extreme north of this area, the soil was darker and more compact. Immediately to the south of this area, the soil was dark reddish brown and appears as though it may be related to the robbing trench 818, as no stones are visible in the scarp and it is aligned with it. A coin was found during the sweeping/clean up of the surface (2013-3), which may be related to the context but cannot be assigned to it with certainty.
