Description:   Top slope of the context is level down to the N. The soil color is dark reddish brown. The soil compaction is compact. The soil is poorly sorted. It is silty sand.
Notes:   This context contains the fill below the tile layer in the baulk left under wall 540, on the north side of wall 992. This small context contained fill between two layers of tile, both of which continue south of wall 992. Thus we believe that this context is also a continuation of context 983. One coin came out of the sift. We closed this context upon reaching the second layer of flat tiles.
