Description:   The context shape in plan is circular. The top break of the cut is sharp. The sides of the cut are vertical. The break at the base of the cut is gradual. The base of the cut is tapered rounded point. Truncation: Original shape.
Notes:   Filled by deposit 101
This cut was recognized by its sharp, vertical sides and the compacted fill it contained. It seems that this cut disturbs only the bedrock in the SE quadrant of shop VI. A coin was found within the deposit of the cut (101) that might help date the fill of this cut as well as the surface/fill of context 87- if they are part of the same action. It might also help date the cut itself, though it seems that this cut is much older than its fill.
This cut is one of two complete circular cuts in the south part of shop VI, though the other is smaller in diameter (0.45m). They are surrounded by semi-circular cuts into the bedrock also in the same quadrant that were probably once full circles, but have since been cut by later activity. As of now we are unsure what purposes these cuts served.
